Friday Funnies ~ R-Chee is just one of the Boys!

Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...
R-Chee!

I need your assistance...

Um...

I am a bit nervous... I hear whispering behind me!

Here is the situation and our mission for today...

The Plot...

Are there still two little boys standing behind me?

Yup!

Those two little cuties are my cousins, Benjamin & Isaac.

They seem pretty harmless and look a bit unsure of what to do with me don't they?

That is the very serious situation you guys have to save me from!

See... In my experience, those hand signals they are making are some sort of plan to get me to...

RUN!

and RUN...

in every direction!

Whew & Phew!

I am POOPED!

...and they are still behind me right?

Not looking the slightest bit tired right?

HELP me...

Ooooo!
Nourishment!

Nope!

Empty hands!

It was a trick to get me to come closer to ....

RUN!

I think I lost them!

Here is one at 12 o'clock!

Oh No!

I am surrounded!

...and now they want to play football!

I think I heard them say in this game, I am Charlie Brown and the one holding the ball will be LUCY!

What does that mean?
This cannot be good!

I need back up!

Please come and be on my team! :)

Come on over!

It will be a FUN way to spend the afternoon and then we can recover over the Labor Day weekend!

What do you have planned after we leave the park?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Fun With Zippers ~ Big Mouth Pouch 3 ~ Orange Bear Pouch

Happy Wednesday everyone!

R-Chee is smiling back at our new bear pouch today!

I made this one for us after falling in love with the one I showed you on Monday that I made for Melanie. :)

I usually do not make two of something, but I decided we are identical twins and should have twin bear pouches too!

I made mine exactly the same, but went into my stash & used a skein of orange Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick for the bear instead of the brown that I used up for Melly's.

Ta Da!

He was so FUN to make that I started another big mouth pouch creature that started as a bear but now has morphed into another FUN creature before my eyes!

He is almost done & I cannot wait to show him to you soon!

What are you up to today?

Please leave us a note and let us know!

We cannot wait to hear all about it!

Fun With Zippers ~ Big Mouth Pouch 2 ~ Brown Bear Pouch

Happy Monday everyone!

I have been having so much FUN sewing zippers into my crochet!

I showed you the Cookie Monster I made for Archie last Wednesday.

He was so much FUN to make that I have made two new creations that I get to show you this week and a 3rd one coming soon! :)

Here is the Bear Pouch I just made for Melanie!

I made him up as I went without a pattern and used my favorite bulky weight yarn, Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick!

There are two surprises waiting to make you mile when you unzip his mouth!

I sewed in pom poms for his teeth and lined the inside bottom with black fleece for a soft landing when you stick your hand inside! :)

I used larger pom poms for his hands and a tube of the black fleece lightly stuffed for his arms!

Ta Da!

Here he is taking a bow!

I loved him so much that I decided to make myself one too that I will show you on Wednesday!

Have a Super day everyone and thank you so much for always playing with me and R-Chee!

We love thinking up new things to share with you!

What FUN things are you up to this week?

Please leave us a note and let us know!

We cannot wait to hear all about them!

Friday Funnies ~ Archie goes to The Market!

Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...
R-Chee!

I am so excited to visit the Louisville Farmer's Market with my pawrents this weekend!

It is a FUN place to explore & enjoy the last few weekends of Summer together as Fall quickly approaches.

Local farmers set up their booths that line the streets of downtown.

Each one is packed with food, activities & people!

And guess what?

The market is right across the street from our Hobby Lobby which is my momma's favorite store in the whole world!

That is where she gets to shop for art supplies and yarn!

Look what she just found!

New colors of yarn that have inspired her brand new Fall collection of Dog Sweater Vests, Barkclava Hats and Woofie Warmer, neck warmers that we sell in our Etsy Shop!

We are busy working on them now and will unveil them to you soon, just in time to warm us as the cool breezes blow in. :)

I am so inspired by the New Collection of colors that I decided to make myself into a collection for you too!

Tee Hee!

The many faces of me!

Here I am watching my momma crochet with all of the new yarn she just bought!

I cannot wait to show them to you in the coming days and eat all the food at the Market this weekend too!

What are you up to this weekend?

Please leave us a note and let us know!

I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Fun with Zippers ~ Big Mouth Pouch 1 ~ Crochet Yellow Monster

Happy Wednesday everyone!

R-Chee asked me to make him a cookie monster to hold his dog treats when we go on his walks!

He gets them at every corner when he sits and looks up at me to make sure it safe before he goes!

He also gets them to treat him when he is good through distractions approaching to keep him safe from moving bikes and big dogs that we do not yet know.

He is such a good boy that I made him his very own cookie monster pouch right away!

I thought it would be the perfect project to practice hand sewing in a zipper to my crochet!

Ta Da!

Now his lips are sealed until we get to his first corner at the end of our block for his first treat!

We are headed to the park to play!

Please come and join us!

We have lots of treats to share with everyone in our new big mouth monster pouch!

Batik Lion Pillow

Happy Monday everyone!

I am so excited to show you the 4th batik I just finished!

Last week, I showed you the batik owl pillow I made and now here is a lion!

It was inspired by the lion doll right behind him that I crocheted earlier this year!

I am in the process of making another Tunisian crochet doll now and will get to show him to you soon!

Here is the batik painting before I washed him with the gutta resist still protecting the white areas from the fabric dyes.

...and here he is after he came out of the wash!

I love the dramatic effect of the batik white lines.

It adds so much character to every piece.

Each time I make a batik painting, my favorite part of the process is to pull it out of the dryer to see the final result.

For this pillow I decided to try something new and instead of using a pillow case that was already made, I went into my fabric stash and made one myself!

I even added and orange zipper on the bottom so I could unzip the pillow form from it if I ever wanted to wash or change the pillow inside!

I also added an orange pom pom trim around the lion to have him surrounded by a fun texture and so that he would match the other ones I had already made in my pillow series!

The back of the pillow was created by using a pre-quilted fabric that has the batting sewn right in.

One day I would love to learn how to make a quilt, but until then I will use this option. :)

I love that the fabric is easy to find at Joann Fabrics and that they have lots of colors and patterns to choose from.

I originally purchased this fabric a few years ago when I used it to make my sewing machine cover!

Ta Da!

Here are the 3 batik pillows that I now have smiling at us every time we go into our bedroom. :)

My owl pillow lives in the family room on the chair that greets me every time I come downstairs!

Each one has so much character!

Whether it is a pug painting, a crocheted doll or a new form of art that I try, I never know how it will turn out in the end, but I always LOVE who shows up!

It is FUN to meet them all and welcome them into our home! :)

Please tune in on Wednesday to see the new crazy thing I just made to practice hand sewing zippers into my crochet!

Friday Funnies ~ Welcome to my Colorful World!

Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...
R-Chee!

I have decided that August is my favorite month in the summertime!

It is still warm but not HOT here in CO.

The monsoons start to blow in from the south so we get a rain shower almost every afternoon!

I can feel the crisp Fall air coming and look forward to the aspen trees turning yellow in just a few weeks.

We got lots of fall colors in our Rocky Mountain terrain that is simply breathtaking.

Color is something my momma loves too.

She finds great joy in surrounding us in it everyday!

For instance, look at the neat door mat she just found at Target for only $12.99!

She just could not resist getting it for us!

Now everyone who comes in the front door will be walking right on a rainbow! :)

Here I am inspecting her installation of the new mat.

See what a good helper I am?

Let me get a close up look at all of the pretty colors!

Yup!  They are all there!

What a FUN find momma!

Now we will have lots of guests stepping into our house on our rainbow!

Come on over!

It is snack time!

I will break out the milk and cookies!

My door is wide open for you!
