Friday Funnies ~ The Shaggy Pug Cave!

Happy Friday everyone!

It is me...
R-Chee!

Guess What?!

My momma has been at it again!

A new ARC Thrift Store just opened down the street from our house and I think she was the first customer through the door!

She had so much FUN finding recycled treasures!

Two of the things she found are for my pug cave!

Look at these cool retro shaggy rugs she found for $2.99 ea!

The are 24 x 34 & even have rubber backing & original tags still on them from at least 30 years ago!

They were originally sold from a Kresge Store that later became the Kmart Brand! :)

Normally these rugs would even be too retro for momma, but she knew they would be perfect for my pug cave the second she saw them!

I must say, I agree!

...and that is not all!

This weekend she also finished the vintage rug hooking kit she has been working on for me since last Fall!

We will write a whole separate post about it soon, but I had to give you a sneak peek!

Now, I have shaggy retro rugs covering both the walls & floor of my pug cave!

Oh my goodness!

Now my Pug Cave is even fuzzier than I am!

Groovy! :)

What FUN treasures have you found lately?

Mine have all been from the backyard that I am not supposed to eat or get into. :)

Please leave me a note and tell me all about yours!

I cannot wait to hear all about them!

Have a Super Duper Day!

Wordless Wonderful Wednesday ~ Fred's Photos from Italy!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I am so excited!

Today I get to share some magic with you!

Fred has returned from his 10 day photography workshop in Florence, Italy and the countryside of Tuscany!

Here is just a cross section of the photos he captured for us!

So, without any more aideu... :)

Enjoy!

Simply Magical!

Looking through Fred's eyes makes me feel like I was transported there too!

What a perfect trip!

How FUN!

He even saw a pug visiting Florence from his home in Greece! :)

The Blob Book is Complete!

Happy Monday everyone!

I am so excited to show you the last two inside pages and the front & back covers of my BLOB Book that is now complete!

I started it last Fall in October 2012 at my Sister's Art Retreat!

Melanie and I took a wonderful Drawing Workshop with Carla Sonheim through Art Camp for Women.

Here are all of my posts showing all of the drawings in my magical Blob Book that I just LOVE.

It was so FUN to see these splashes of paint show me shapes to trace and color in whenever I wanted to just relax and create!

Each character seemed to just arrive and say hello every time I pulled out my pencils, markers and glitter glue pens!

Here is the page you saw above that I made using a simple set of kid's watercolor paints!

All you do is lightly swirl, splatter or swish the paint on a piece of watercolor paper leaving space for the white paper to show.

You do not have to lay a lot of swishes down, and it is best to really water down your colors to keep them light and transparent for you to be able to see your creatures in your blobs.

Then I just let them dry, folded the pages and cut random scallops on the edges to make a FUN edges instead of hard corners.

It also made the pages different sizes from each other which allows you to draw creatures that actually are partly on one page and partly on the one underneath if you would like!

Then you just take your pencil and find the creatures in your blobs and trace around them.

There are no rules!

You add any faces, expressions and colors & textures that you want when you color them in!

I just used colored pencils, watercolor paints, markers, and glitter glue pens to color mine in.

It was so FUN, easy and relaxing to do!

Ta Da!

My first Blob Book is complete!

I cannot wait to make more!

I love that I did not rush through this process and just let the book evolve over 6 months.

If I would have done it all at once, each page would have looked the same!

But by spreading it out, I was able to have a clean slate each time I sat down and pick up new colors, markers and even glitter at the end!

These are things I never would have done if I did it all at once!

Now my book is even richer and, in my mind and heart, has a whole life and story on each page that I created!

Thank you so much for always looking at what I am making!

It is so FUN to share it with you!

You really make my world a very special place to be!

Friday Funnies ~ R-Chee's Big Splash!

Happy First day of Summer everyone!

It is me...
R-Chee!

It is so nice and summery here today!

The sun is out, and I would love to go for a swim but alas...
We do not have a pool!

I know!

I will close my eyes and pretend that this is a diving board instead of a lounge chair and go for a swim!

Splash!

Wow!

Dreams really do come true!

I am soaking wet from head to toe!

How refreshing!

How are you spending your first day of Summer today?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to hear all about it!
