The Tweetie Trade!

Happy Tweetie Tuesday everyone!

Archie and I have been busy crocheting Tweeties again!

My friend Lynne and I from England decided to make each other Tweeties and send our color combo choices as a surprise!

I made this little guy that Lynne named Pecan!

He is a little nut isn't he with his one orange and one purple foot!

Here he is living across the pond with Lynne in her sewing room!

How FUN!

I got my package on the same day!

Imagine my surprise when I found not one but...

4 Tweeties in my package!

Oh my gosh!

They are fabulous!

She even sewed little seed beads on their tummies!

I love how they all turned out!

I wonder what we will make next!

What fun projects are you planning for the Fall?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to hear all about them!

Hi everyone!

It is me... Archie!

Today feels like Freaky Friday!

Have you ever felt like someone was watching you?

I been having this funny feeling all day that someone is watching and giggling!

I am going to go and look for this certain someone!

Is he over here?

NOPE!

Hey Momma, do you feel like someone is watching me?

No? Are you sure?

I think I heard something over by the fence...

Aaaaahhh!

There he is!

That crazy looking bird has been laughing at me all day!

What are you laughing at Mister Meany Greenie?

What's that?

You are laughing at my curly tail?

You have GOT to be kiddin' me! :)

Have you looked in the mirror today?

Tee Hee!

I'm out a here!

New Yarn Painting ~ Fawn Pug ~ Citrus Tweed

Happy Thursday everyone!

Archie and I are so excited to show you our newest yarn painting!

It was inspired by a photo Fred took of him last week!

As soon as I saw what Fred captured, I knew I had to get out my yarn and glue and start creating! :)

Archie

~ 6 Months Old ~

Copyright - Fred Langer 2011

Here is a detailed tutorial of how I create yarn paintings and all of the materials you will need to create your own.

Anyone of any age can make them!

They are so fun & easy to do!

For the purposes of going with the flow of how this piece came together, I will now show you all of the photos I took during the fun process of cutting the yarn and gluing it onto the photo of Archie.

Yay! Archie is all filled in!

Now it is time to cut little circle out of white craft felt to glue into the eyes to bring him to life!

If you remember, I tried something new in the last yarn painting that I did of Archie by adding hearts to the background.

That was so much fun, that I decided to try something new again by choosing a citrus tweed varigated yarn for the background instead of a solid color.

Ta Da!

I just love how it turned out!

Like all of my other yarn paintings, this one is now available in my Etsy Shop as note cards and a signed print for you to enjoy. :)

Please let me know if you make a yarn painting too! I would love to see!

Seriously Cute Crochet Pug!

Hi everyone!

I am so excited to tell you about this fabulous dog crochet book I just got!

Ami Ami Dogs lives up to its subtitle ~ Seriously Cute Crochet!

Look at this cute pug I made in no time flat!

I used Lion Brand Baby Alpaca Yarn and a size E crochet hook.

His collar is made from Lion Brand Amazing Yarn.

I love all of the colorways that Amazing comes in, and I was so excited to see that my Hobby Lobby now carries them in stock! Yippeeeee!

Here is the side view!

I used round plastic beads for his eyes so they are nice & buggy for the puggy!

I just love how he turned out!

He looks like he wants to play...

with Emmitt!

Tee Hee!

This was my first attempt at following a Japanese style chart pattern instead of a classic written out patttern.

I was a little intimidated when I first opened the book, but was surprised and pleased about how easy the chart was to follow.

I followed the books instructions for making the pug form and then went rogue and made my own ears, eyes, muzzle and nose. :)

I highly recommend this book as it is a wonderful pattern book to make dozens of breeds of dogs that all follow the same basic pattern with slightly different directions for ears, tails and coloring for the different features.

Please let me know if you make any!

I would love to see!

The IKEA Denver Fieldtrip!

Hi everyone!

Happy Happy Tuesday!

I am so excited to say that IKEA Denver is finally complete and open!

It took 3 whole years from the time they announced the news to open their doors.

Celebration! Melanie and I had our sister IKEA shopping spree last week!

We have had fun going to the San Diego and Seattle IKEA's together on our pug show trips and now we can actually buy 3 dimensional items that do not have to fit flat in our suitcases!

Here we are entering the showroom!

and here is the loot we got!

Look at that big box!

It is holding my new...

and I could not resist these cute mod pillows to prop up my pug dolls!

Tee hee!

and of course, no kitchen is complete without an IKEA scrub brush!

I love that it stands up with a suction cup base!

No more soggy scrubbies!

Yippppeeee!

Now Melly and I can go anytime we want!

We had the best time and I cannot wait to go back!

What are your favorite IKEA items?

Please leave me a note and let me know!

I cannot wait to check them out!
